Sticktoitiveness pays off – big time

Yes, that’s a real word. And yes, a little sticktoitiveness goes a long way. Just ask Brian S. Pratt of Boswell, Oklahoma.

When he started out as an indie author, his first quarterly royalty payment was $7.82. That’s right – barely enough to buy him a couple of grandé lattes.

But Brian kept at it and this interview over at the Smashwords blog reveals that “he’s on track to earn over $100,000 in 2011 at Smashwords, and up to $200,000 total when he includes his projected Amazon sales.”

Now that’s what I call sticktoitiveness.

  1. This author has provided some great down to earth advice and shared many of his basic early frustrations. I was particularly drawn to his never quit attitude while learning from past mistakes and errors. Many writers find it to easy to fade into the background because they lack ability to be persistant, and are to sensitive to the critiques of agents unwilling to recognize potential and take a chance. This success story sheds light on the new vistas available through epublishing domains.
